Who This Site is For

Household advice is designed with two people in mind. First, we cater to homeowners that are in the beginning stages of a renovation, new construction or update that don’t know where to start. We offer flooring ideas for a new look, updated styles and fashion trends to keep your home modern and stylish.

Second, we help those that have already installed new flooring to maintain their floors. By showcasing new technologies, you can keep your floors clean, fresh and looking new for years to come. With the right cleaners, tools, equipment and techniques, your floors will always look their best.

More About What We do at Household Advice

Our main goal here at the site is to show you the best flooring options for your home, boat, RV, deck any anywhere else you need to walk. We also give you tips and tricks to maintain and clean your floors.

Alongside high-quality and comprehensive flooring guides, we have equipment reviews, DIY informational articles and cleaning hacks anyone can do.

With our team of experienced flooring pros, enthusiasts and writers, we review, rate and test or thoroughly research everything posted here. Essentially, we do all the legwork so you don’t have to.

Plus, we partner with a large network of professional contractors to offer you local, reliable contractors to help you get the flooring projects completed.

Our In-House Rating System Explained

Each of our brands, products and options are rated when reviewed. We use a 5-point system (in half-point increments) on the aspects that matter.

Everything from quality, durability, installation ease and even eco-friendliness is rated on this scale. Once the various aspects are awarded a quality point, those points are then averaged to offer an overall-rating of the brand, product or piece of equipment.

To get the rating points, we look at the product for that particular aspect and use unbiased testing, customer reviews, complaints, company updates and past personal experience. Each rated feature is given the same care and professionalism as the rest of the article.

When you see our rating system, you can place a higher value on the portions that matter more to you and pick those products that score the highest on individual aspects. Or, you can view the averaged rating for the product as a whole to find the best overall-option.

We also offer “Best-of” reviews to give you a smaller listing to help pinpoint the product or brand you should focus on. The highest rated brands or products are put together in a head-to-head comparison style article so you can view them all in one place.

We’re Hiring!

Are you passionate about flooring and DIY? We are always looking for talented and experienced writers with real life flooring expertise.
